Doppstadt manufacture a range of Slow Speed Shredders to suit many difficult applications. Slow Speed Shredders can also be referred to as primary shredders as they are often used as the primary shredder to shred bulky waste before re-shredding with a high speed shredder to produce a fine product.
In Australia the DW3080K (as shown above) has been used on an inert or dry waste landfill to reduce waste and improve compaction. It was found that the shredding of the waste prior to landfilling increased compaction by more than 50%. Densities of 1 tonne per cubic meter were achieved with carpet, plastics and paper the main waste types being landfilled.
The slow speed shredder can also shred bulky green waste such as logs and stumps and other timber waste such as railway sleepers and pallets. Demolition wastes can also be shredded with the Doppstadt slow speed shredders.
Shredders of the DW or slow speed series are also available on hook lift chassis, semi-trailer chassis, stationary or on track chassis. Diesel and electric drives of many different power ranges can be offered.
The slow speed shredders are a single shaft principle with a hydraulically driven shredding comb. The comb automatically opens in case of disturbances thus protecting the machine and reducing wear. A magnet can be fitted as an option to remove steel from the shredded material.
